The case of
Parwiz Kambakhsh, a reporter for the local newspaper, “Jahan-e Now,” and
a student at Balkh University, requires the
urgent attention of journalists and activists for freedom of expression.
Kambakhs
was accused and has been unlawfully detained for three months for possessing an
article, which discussed controversial verses of The Holy Quran regarding
women’s rights.
We believe
that the government of Afghanistan and his Excellency president Karzai has an
important responsibility to secure free speech for journalists, especially in
the area of religion, like the world’s leading democracies.
We pledge
our support for and call on Mr. Karzai to work for the immediate release of Mr.
Kambakhsh. He has strong support among those who care about freedom of speech
and democracy, and they are distributing the facts of this case world-wide.

گفته می شود در آن به اسلام اهانت شده است, ماه هاست که به شکل غیر قانونی در
بازداشت به سر می برد.
ما بر این باوریم که دولت افغانستان و شخص
آقای
حامد کرزی در قبال تامین آزادی بیان برای روزنامه نگاران, بويژه در موارد دین و
مذهب مسولیت بزرگ ملی و انسانی دارند.
ما بر حمایت خود از پرویز کامبخش تاکید نموده واز شخص
خود آقای کرزی خواهانیم تا در آزادی فوری و بدون قید وشرط این خبرنگار جوان تلاش
نمایند. پرویز کامبخش حمایت وسیع آنهایی را که به آزادی بیان و دموکراسی باور
کامل دارند را داشته و آن ها در پخش این حقیقت در سرتاسر جهان تلاش خواهند
کرد.

suportar a liberação imediata de um jovem journalista afghan
Parwiz Kambakhsh é um repórter de um jornal local, de "Jahan-e Now,"
estudante da universidade de Balkh, requer a atenção urgente dos journalistas e
dos ativistas para a liberdade da expressão.
Kambakhs foi acusado e foi detido ilegalmente por três meses por possuir um
artigo, que discutí-se versos controversos do
Quran holy a respeito dos direitos das mulheres.

May I join the fray by asking the Afghan President to intercede and reverse the harsh conviction of the young Afghan journalist.
Even though the journalist erred the sentence would have been fair to him if it was a stern warning-NEVER DO THAT AGAIN than resolve to "cut shot his breathe".
As the common sages goes—experience is the best teacher and sky is the limit , so could have been the youngman#s drive oblivious of the dangers his article bored to the state, kindly I appeal to the State to forgive him.He will smart from this in future.
If indeed the President has enjoyed coverage from the Media before to articulate his government policies or agenda then this is the time to overturn the harsh verdict that has caused an international outrage among journalists.
Freeing the journalist would see the President go in record as one of the exemplary respected leaders with high respect to the freedom of information and human regard in respect to the rule of law.

ما مسولين ٬ همکاران و اعضای انجمن پيوند تصميم گيری غير عالانه و غير قانونی محکمه ابتدايی ولايت بلخ رامبنی بر حکم اعدام خبرنگار افغان پرويز کامبخش که ناقض تمام حقوق و آزادی های تضمين شده در قانون اساسی کشور است٬ شديداً تقبيح می نماييم. ما به اين باوريم که پرويز کامبخش هيج جنايتی انجام نداده است.
دگر انديشی و يا در اختيار داشتن نشرات غير مذهبی جرم نيست. ما خواهان دخالت و اقدام فوری رئيس جمهور حامد کرزی در اين باره هستيم٬ و رهايی فوری پرويز کامبخش را متالبه می نماييم.

I, as a Norwegian ISAF officer in Mazar Sharif condemn the death sentence over Parwez Kambakhsh and request to free him imidiately. I request Government of Afghanistan respects human rights and free speach. This news is published in Norway and we are under presure from human right organisations and our people to help this young journalist. We know that we (ISAF) should not intervin in Afghanistans internal affairs but what shall we respond to our people in Norway when they ask us why you kept silence in this important issue ? 50% of Norwegian people want us to leave afghanistan, if you commit this sentence than the number of people who want us to withrow will increase. Please let us be here to help you for a prosprous Afghnaistan. Do not disapoint us.

Freedom of the press benefits all people. Journalists and media sources provide a balance to powerful influences by exposing those who may be corrupt; cinema and music brings joy to many lives; intellectual writings serve as a platform for serious discussion and encourages understanding. It is through the exchange of ideas that some of mankind’s greatest discoveries have been achieved. Universities must be a place for free discourse. The first line of Article 34 in Afghanistan’s Constitution states "Freedom of expression is inviolable". I pray your government will uphold this right and restore Parwiz Kambakhsh’s freedom.

To whom it may concern;
My name is Khatera M. Currently i live in Canada. I am a student at one of the Toronto’s institution, studying child psychology.
As a reporter "Parwiz Kambakhsh" performed an act and did a favour for his society, that any journalist or a reportar would do. I think Afghanistan can not afford to lose any more young people like "Parwiz Kambakhsh". Further more Afghanistan should support the journalist’s right of speach and thier reports that keeps people up date.
